This unit does bot work properly! More like a fan than an air conditiner, plus very noisy. To make matters worse, the company is bow giving me the run around trying to return it. I will be filing a complaint with US Daily Store directly.

I usually don't do reviews but I think everyone should know what you're buying. This unit cools like it should and was easy set up but I thought after the room was cool it would shut off but only the compressor does and the fan runs all the time. It never stops unless you set a timer or turn it off. But you also have to turn it back on or set the timer. My window unit always turned on and off when the room was hot. It will need a good place to drain the water or you will have to empty it when the light turns on. I'm using the drain hose that came with it. It is noisier than window units because the entire unit is inside the room so no noise going outside but I like that it's not blocking the window. It's the only window upstairs and I felt for safety reasons the window shouldn't be blocked. In a smaller room it's to much noise.

This unit does not cool my room. I brought it thinking it would cool my room which is less than 200sqaure feet. It runs all night and I barely feel a chill. I have just initiated a return from the company because it can't be sent back to walmart. Always best to buy items you could return to directly to US Daily Store less aggrevation.

2. You will have to fill in the extra height of your vertical window with something else, depending how fancy or basic you want it to be. I have a vertical slider as well, and plan to paint a thin piece of plywood, perhaps. Not the easiest solution for the rainy season, but you can think of something. Of course the company is not going to make a kit for vertical windows, it wouldn't be cost effective, and wouldn't insulate that well, either, with the flimsy material they make for the filler part.
